For the entirety of human civilization we have lived in top down models. Power and decision making start at the top and the results trickle down to the masses. This centralized power structure benefits very few and the interests of the whole are often neglected or ignored. Web3 is coming, and it has the potential to usher in a new decentralized renaissance. One of the greatest tools of this new paradigm is the DAO, or Distributed Autonomous Organization.

Reimagine, by Elycolz

What exactly is a DAO?

DAOs take many forms, but at their core, they are blockchain based organizations governed by smart contracts or encoded rules. Rather than a CEO or Board of Directors unilaterally deciding the direction, the community members drive the ship through proposals and voting. One of my favorite analogies is the vending machine. When it is stocked with snacks and money, it runs itself. However, it needs human interaction to decide when it’s restocked, what snacks are loaded, prices, maintenance, etc.

In a DAO, these decisions are transparent, community driven, and trackable on chain. DAOs are a revolutionary new way to reimagine how organizations are governed in an equitable and fair manner, their true potential is just starting to be tapped.

What does a DAO mean for NUNA and its holders?

Very shortly Lumenswap will be releasing their version of the DAO on the Stellar Blockchain and Nuna Project Art will be one of the first selected to participate. This is not only a great honor for Nuna, it is an excellent opportunity for its investors and community. What will that look like? What new directions will be taken? These questions will be determined by the Nuna holders.

Liquidity provisions, incentives, marketing proposals, artistic relationships and direction–these are just some of the potentials awaiting the community’s direction.

Welcome to DAO Life Nunatics!
