JLuis Huerta
Artist and Curator
“ To create, from the cold and uncertain, something that will become alive ”
I always felt the need to create, as a child I loved pretending and thinking about making all kind of things from scrap and stuff around the house, not exactly art because I really didn’t knew what I was going for, it has always been a feeling, some are easy to express and some have to be materialised.
The first piece of art that really leave mark on my mind was Picasso’s Guernica, saw it on a magazine, and made me though that someday I wanted to do something like that.
I think it was at high school when i started to get more interested on this subjects, i started to study drawing and photography. Later I got a degree on Fine arts and Photography
I think the most likely concept is multidisciplinary, it means I go through different methods like combining techniques and research to develop an art project that could have a variety of materials and techniques (Photography, Collage, Installation, 3D process).
My work develops as I grow as a person, lately i’ve been working with the loss of memory and though, related to a family experience I had recently. My next project is a series of installations about community and human relationships, i want to create physical pieces and spaces that later will be 3D scanned.
I do art and everything related to promoting it in at the morning and at the afternoon im in the studio. My creative process is very spontaneous and intuitive whenever I have an idea I try to execute it or at least write about it, I like to work on several things at the time, that way im always creating something new.
